I'm glad I'm still twenty.
I mean, there are those areas which if given the chance I'd redo, but generally
I'd write more, read more, listen more, learn more.
I'd observe the smaller details while sipping on some water,
not coffee.
I'd be less of a fiend.
I never would have associated with those people.
I never would have lost those people.
I'd run more and expand my palette more and fight for what I want more.
I'd also get a license, or at least learn to ride a damn bicycle!
But I'm glad I'm twenty. There's still hope for me.

The only thing I'm unhappy about is not being 19. At 19, your at the pinnacle of the teens. You're their senior officer, you demand a lot more respect for yourself, and you're given a lot more freedom from your parents.
ReplyDeleteSince I've entered my twenties, people expect a lot more out of me, which I luckily am I able to put out a fair amount of the time. You have to give respect to 'git it right? Well you'll be giving more and receiving less at this age, until we grow older.
It seems every decade we reset what is expected of us.

20 - Grow The Fuck Up
30 - Get Married Or Get Out (of the house)
40 - Stable Life
50 - Plan For Retirement / Life Insurance
60 - Knowledgeable
70 - Old; Retire if you haven't already
80 - You don't need to drive anymore, because you can't
90 - WTF YOUR STILL ALIVE? DIE ALREADY SO WE CAN INHERIT YOUR MONIES
100 - I'll enter you in the world record book
I agree with everything you say, 'cept 50. You're supposed to be planning for retirement way before then--it's just that 50's when you start sweating balls over it.
